    Hunter did his part Thursday (June 28) during the O Music Awards to help the Flaming Lips break a Guinness World Record for the most concerts in multiple cities during a 24-hour period. The alternative rock band broke Jay-Z's record by performing shows in eight cities.

    The bus tour began Wednesday in Memphis, Tenn., and was captured in its entirety during a video stream. Following five stops in Mississippi and another in Baton Rouge, La., the tour ended Thursday when the band made the 7:30 p.m. ET deadline to break the record at the House of Blues in New Orleans.

    Hayes opened the show early Thursday morning at Benny's Boom Boom Room in Hattiesburg, Miss. Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne made a surprise appearance in Hattiesburg and sang "These Days" with Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne.
